Can Yum Check help with the product in front of me?
Yes—photograph a packaged food item, the front or back of its packaging, a nutrition panel, or an ingredients list. A clear ingredients-list photo gives you the most exact label analysis, but you can still get useful guidance from a recognizable product photo.
What if the barcode is missing or will not scan?
You can still check the product. Yum Check analyzes the photo itself, so you can use your camera in the store or choose an existing picture from your library without relying on a barcode database.
How will I know whether an ingredient deserves concern?
The 0–100 score gives you a quick overall answer, with higher scores representing a cleaner result. Green, yellow, orange, and red labels separate safe, low-concern, caution, and high-risk signals, while the ingredient cards explain the reason behind each flag.
Can I see whether Yum Check helps before paying?
Yes. Your first three food checks are free, so you can try the experience on products you already buy. Premium then unlocks unlimited checks, full ingredient breakdowns, private scan history, and every plain-language explanation. Plans and local prices are always shown before you purchase.
Who controls my scan history?
You do. Your saved product history stays locally on your iPhone rather than in a Yum Check account. You can delete the entire history at any time from Settings, without restrictions or a deletion request.
Can Yum Check tell me what is medically safe for me?
Yum Check helps you understand general ingredient concerns and make a more informed shopping decision. It cannot account for every medical condition or personal reaction, so it does not replace allergy guidance or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
